Janet, Optician

Our optician, Janet, has over 25 years of experience in the fitting and manufacturing of eyeglasses and lenses for children of all ages. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in sociology, as well as an Associates Degree in Opticianry. Janet has been a New Jersey State Licensed Ophthalmic Dispenser and Technician since 1986, and has also been named a Fellow of the National Academy of Opticianry. In addition, Janet is a Certified Optician by the American Board of Opticianry and is also a Nationally Certified Contact Lens Fitter. Janet has served in the past as president of the board for a special education school, and has a great deal of patience and experience in working with children who have a variety of special needs, including attention deficit, hyperactivity, pervasive development disorders, autistic spectrum disorders, sensory integration issues, and Down’s Syndrome among others. Janet takes great care in fitting each child from infants to teens with the appropriate frames and lenses for their prescription and according to their needs, including bifocals, multifocal progressive and prism lenses when needed.
