Anita Breckenridge, MD

Dr. Breckenridge is a board certified fellowship-trained pediatric ophthalmologist. She grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland and attended McGill University in Montreal, Quebec receiving a B.Sc. in Anatomical Sciences. She then returned to her hometown and graduated with honors from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington DC.

After medical school, Dr. Breckenridge spent a transitional intern year at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose, California. She then returned to the East Coast and completed a three year residency in ophthalmology at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. She spent her last year as a chief resident.

As a general ophthalmologist she built a thriving practice in just under two years. When her husband, Jefferson, joined a New Jersey-based startup in his field of high-speed optical networking, Dr. Breckenridge returned to the East Coast once again. She took the opportunity to further her training by completing a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia.

As the newest addition to the Pediatric Eye Associates Team, Dr. Breckenridge will be affiliated with St. Barnabas Medical Center and Overlook Hospital. She currently lives in Morristown with her husband and their two cats, Taz and Yoda.
